You are invited to write a letter addressed to the Angel of the North. You can contribute to Dear Angel by attending the exhibition at Globe Gallery, Newcastle or by taking part in one of our participatory letter making sessions at Holy Island as part of the final weekend of Festival of the North East, at 36 Lime Street for Creative Ouseburn, or at the Angel's birthday party, Angel 15 , throughout June. Dear Angel will also be open to contributions in Durham during the Lindisfarne Gospels Cultural Programme

Your letter will be included in an artist book for the Festival of the North East by Newcastle based artist and writer Stevie Ronnie

This artwork is open to all contributions.

Holy Island

Artists Marek Gabrsych and Susannah Pickering will be resident on Holy Island throughout the Festival of the North East Finale weekend on the 29th – 30th June. Working from a caravan, they will be exhibiting a selection of letters from Dear Angel artwork and inviting visitors to write or record a letter by offering a range of participatory creative writing and audio activities.

Dear Angel artist Stevie Ronnie will be participating in the weekend by sending a digital letter live from a tall ship somewhere in the Arctic Circle where he will be undertaking an artist residency. All of the letters made on Holy Island will be added to the Dear Angel book and then exhibited in Durham as part of the Lindisfarne Gospels Cultural Programme.
