You are invited to write a letter addressed to the Angel of the North. You can contribute to Dear Angel by attending the exhibition at Globe Gallery, Newcastle or by taking part in one of our participatory letter making sessions at Holy Island as part of the final weekend of Festival of the North East, at 36 Lime Street for Creative Ouseburn, or at the Angel's birthday party, Angel 15 , throughout June. Dear Angel will also be open to contributions in Durham during the Lindisfarne Gospels Cultural Programme

Your letter will be included in an artist book for the Festival of the North East by Newcastle based artist and writer Stevie Ronnie

Now containing over 1000 contributions, Dear Angel appears in Durham as part of the Lindisfarne Gospels Cultural Programme. Showing alongside the main artwork is Home, a new series of book works by Stevie Ronnie.

For the first time the Dear Angel book will include newly commissioned contributions by artists Susannah Pickering and Marek Gabrysch that were developed during their mini Dear Angel residency on Holy Island during the Festival of the North East finale celebrations in June. Susannah worked with visitors to Lindisfarne to create a book of illuminated letters and stitched paper carpet pages for the Angel of the North. Sound artist Marek has created Sonus Illuminati: a series of audio works that capture the sounds and atmosphere of the Gospels spiritual home in a reflexive soundscape.
